Calgary fire crews were busy late Saturday afternoon battling a grass fire in northwest Calgary.

It was spotted around 3:30 p.m. just west of the community of Valley Ridge.

The HAWC helicopter was on scene too.

It took one of the fire department's district chiefs up so he could assess the scene from above.

There was no word if any structures were damaged, or how the fire may have started.
