More than two dozen cyclists are preparing to travel more than 600 kilometres as part of the Tour du Cancervive 2016.

The group, consisting of 25 riders, will make its way throughout southern Alberta as they attempt to raise $100,000 for Wellspring Calgary, an organization that supports people living with cancer.

Organizers are encouraging members of the public to donate and ride alongside the group during the tour’s final day on September 11 when the riders are scheduled to make their way from Chestermere to Calgary.

“We invite you to join us,” said Peggy Brosens, Cancervive general manager. “You don’t need a special road bike, you can do it pretty much on any bike you want and kids are welcome too!”

“The cost is $100. Your donation will go to Wellspring Calgary. You’ll get a tax receipt, a t-shirt, a cool pair of socks and a welcome home barbeque here at Wellspring.”
