Police in Pincher Creek say the death of a 43-year-old woman found near the Oldman Dam last week is now a homicide and they are working to track her movements before her death.

Victoria Joanne Crow Shoe, of Lethbridge, was last seen by her family on August 26 and was reported missing to police.

Her body was found by a fisherman along the shore of the Oldman River Reservoir at the Windy Point Campground on Sunday, September 13, 2015.

Police say tips from the public have been invaluable to their investigation but they would still like to hear from anyone who may have knowledge of Crow Shoe’s activities or whereabouts before August 31, when she was last seen by associates.

Crow Shoe is described as:

  • Aboriginal woman
  • 170 cm or 5'7"
  • 73 Kg or 160 lbs
  • Medium build
  • Brown eyes (may have been wearing contacts or eye glasses)
  • Brown hair with highlights, longer than shoulder length, untied

She was last seen wearing/carrying the following items:

  • Wearing a black "Fox Racing" pullover hoodie (logo Fox white/grey/black)
  • Wearing black pants
  • Carrying a purple bag and/or over the shoulder duffle bag.
