One man is dead following a Saturday morning fire in a campground situated near the QEII highway.

Emergency crews responded to Whispering Spruce RV Park and Storage, located on Balzac Boulevard, at approximately 6:00 a.m. following reports of a trailer fire.

An unresponsive 60-year-old man was found inside a fire damaged RV. EMS officials confirm the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A campground staff member says the unnamed victim was known to keep to himself inside his semi-permanent setup in the RV facility.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but RCMP have deemed it to be of a non-suspicious nature.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.
