The family of Nick Lush is pleading for information about his whereabouts after the 32-year-old failed to return home on Sunday morning.

According to family friends Dana Heald and Sarah Stamp, Nick left the Lush home in the northeast community of Temple on Saturday night at approximately 7:30 p.m. to attend a birthday party at a home located west of Canada Olympic Park. The party was for a friend of Nick’s cousin and the family believes Nick would have known no one at the party except his cousin.

The cousin left the party without Nick, who does not have a cellphone, credit cards or a vehicle.

Nick’s wife Denise and his three young children have not heard from him since.

“They’re heartbroken,” said Sarah. “How can you go on, day after day, wondering where someone is? It’s getting to the point now where we just need to find him.”

According to Sarah and Dana, Lush worked as a labourer and chose to spend his free time with his family, either at home or fishing.

“For him to go away and not contact Denise even after one day, she was scared,” said Sarah.

“Denise and Nick have been together since she was 15 years old,” explained Dana. “They were each other’s life, they were each other’s best friend, each other’s confidant.”

“Denise depended on Nick a lot for support, not only financially but with the kids and with the house. I think that that’s a huge empty spot this week and is very scary for her.”

Members of the Cochrane RCMP detachment and Calgary Police Service are investigating Nick’s disappearance. Denise was notified by RCMP of an investigation into an assault which occurred Sunday morning at a location along the Trans-Canada Highway.

“The police haven’t told her that anything’s connected,” said Sarah. “They’re investigating that, if it is, or if it isn’t connected.”

Nick is described as:

  • A Caucasian male
  • 157 cm (5’2”) tall
  • 64 kg (140 lbs)
  • Brown eyes
  • Brown hair
  • Having a flaming tattoo on his left arm
  • Having a demon skull tattoo on his right shoulder
  • Having a ‘Scroll Scribble’ tattoo on his stomach
  • Having various tattoos on his hands

On the night of the party, Nick was wearing:

  • Black ‘Sons of Anarchy’ t-shirt
  • Green camouflage spring jacket
  • Blue jeans
  • Black DC running shoes

“We are absolutely hopeful that Nick will come home,” said Dana. “He’s got a family that needs him, that loves him, that misses him, that wants him home.”

““We’re asking anyone that has any information, has talked to Nick, has messaged him or anything before Saturday to please contact us,” said Sarah. “If you’ve seen him, if you were at that house party, can you please contact Denise or the Calgary city police. Let them know anything you know. We don’t need your name, we don’t need anything.”

In connection to the investigation into Nick’s disappearance, RCMP members are attempting to locate the following vehicle:

  • 2008 Dodge Charger
  • Alberta licence plate BDY 1907

Anyone with information about Nick’s disappearance or the location of the Dodge Charger is asked to contact the Cochrane RCMP detachment, 403-932-2211, Calgary Police Service, 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers.
