Police say that three thieves broke into the Calgary Shooting Centre early Thursday morning, making off with an unknown number of firearms.

They suspect that the thieves managed to get inside the shop by forcing open the metal bars barricading a front window with a truck.

Once inside, the suspects smashed several cases and grabbed dozens of weapons before fleeing.

Police suspect about 30 weapons were stolen, but that number could change as the gun shop looks over their inventory.

The CPS is worried, however, about where those guns could end up.

The company’s website says that it carries hand guns, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, and accessories.

The store at the location sells weapons ranging in price from several hundred to several thouands of dollars.

Police say that it is always a concern when guns go missing from a break in.

They hope to recover surveillance video from the shop in hopes of identifying the suspects.

The Shooting Centre is aiding investigators.

The Weapons Enforcement Support Team (N-WEST), a national agency that deals with all aspects of firearms investigations and prosecution, is also helping police with the case.
