Fire crews battled another blaze at Calgary Metal Recycling along Ogden Road S.E. Thursday morning.

The location is familiar to firefighters who have responded to several calls there over the past few years.

The call came in around 3:30 a.m. with four trucks and a dozen firefighters responding. When fire crews arrived, there were flames up to 20 feet high coming off one of the scrap piles in the yard.  That pile was one of the smaller mounds of recycling in front of one of the compactors.

Several fires at this location have made the news in the past couple of years.

One of them in 2012 smoldered for weeks.  In that case the owners faced 17 charges under provincial fire and safety codes.
