A local mother is traumatized after a dog attacked her daugther without warning as she was playing outside her home Sunday night.
Four-year-old Haley Khidri was playing with friends outside her home in Taradale when what appeared to be a pitbull jumped on her.
Another dog was also on scene, but did not attack the girl.
Haley's mother tried to take her inside, but the dog followed her into the house, so she sat Haley on top of the car to protect her from the attacks.
Neighbours rushed to the aid of the little girl, some using a broom handle and a piece of wood to hit the dogs and drive them back.
Neither the dogs nor the owners have been found, but police are searching the neighbourhood.
They are also unsure whether the attack was random or if the dogs had rabies.
Haley will stay under observation for ten days as a result.
