A gas station in northwest Calgary has been ordered to make environmental amends by this summer.

An environmental protection order was issued against Gas Plus on Bowness Road in December for failing to remediate contamination on and off the gas station site.

Now they've been given a deadline of the end of June.

Houses in the area underwent several environmental tests after gasoline seeped into the ground last April.

Up to 9000 litres of gasoline had leaked into the ground.

About 3,000 litres have been recovered.
