The doors will be thrown open on the largest Goodwill thrift store and donation centre in Alberta which is located right here in Calgary.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the newly renovated, two storey location at 5707 Macleod Trail S.W.

The new location provides employment opportunities to 30 Calgarians including ten with disabilities.

Goodwill employs 196 Calgarians in four retail stores, three donation centres, and a Calgary regional office.

Goodwill is a not for profit agency that provides training and jobs for individuals with disabilities.

In 2011, the company contributed $6M to the Calgary economy, provided just under 97,000 hours of service for people with disabilities, and saved over 4 million kilos of used good from heading to the landfill.
