Students from across southern Alberta and British Columbia took their physics class to Calaway Park on Friday.

About 2,000 junior high and high school students went on the field trip to learn about gravity and G-force.

The students rode on the roller coaster and other attractions and took simple measurements using stopwatches and tape measures to fill out workbooks.

The event was part of the University of Calgary's Rollercoasterology Program, designed to give students a hands-on physics experience.
