A man wanted by Edmonton police on a warrant for escaping lawful custody may be in Calgary.
Richard David Barker is being called a high risk offender and is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
Barker was on a work program at a museum in Edmonton and while at the museum he drove off in the Capital Health Region's van.
The van was found in Calgary and police believe Barker may still be in the city or he may be headed to Vancouver.
Barker has a criminal history consisting of violence and property related crimes and is known to Calgary police.
He is the same man who went on a wild car-jacking spree just over a year ago and at the time a veteran police officer said he had never seen anything like it in his career.
In May of 2008, Barker admitted to racing around Calgary hi-jacking or attempting to hi-jack more than a dozen vehicles at gunpoint.
Several cars were left smashed all around the city before Barker was captured near a school in the city's southeast.
Richard Barker was found not criminally responsible and committed to the Alberta Hospital in Edmonton.
A psychiatrist told the court that Barker believed he was acting on instructions from god and thought he was doing something good.
Barker is 28- years-old, about 173cm (5'8") and 70 kg (155lbs).
He has blonde hair, blue eyes, a scar on his chin, and a grim reaper tattoo on his right upper arm.
