A high-risk offender who has a record of preying on women is back in police custody after a vicious assault this past weekend.

Keegan Spearchief, 24, is accusing of attacking two women in the home he shares with them.

The assault happened Sunday morning in the 3100 block of Doverville Cres. S.E.

A second woman was assaulted when she tried to intervene.

When police arrived they were confronted by a man armed with a knife who challenged officers to shoot him.

He fled on foot, but was caught and arrested.

He was out on bail and wearing a G.P.S. monitoring bracelet.

"Our most significant concern with Spearchief is, in fact, that he is a predatory rapist and our concern is that he would go and commit another violent sexual assault against a female stranger in the community of Calgary," says Sgt. Rich Veldhoen with the High-Risk Offender program.

Spearchief is back behind bars facing a slew of new charges, and will appear in court September 3, 2010.
