More than 1,400 people braved the cold and bad roads in Lethbridge to pay their respects to the Twigg family.

On November 5th, Cst. Sheldon Twigg, his wife Kim, their daughter Lacey, and granddaughter Brielle were killed in a car crash.

Cst. Twigg served with the Lethbridge Police Service and on Tuesday dozens of his colleagues from across Alberta were amongst those who came to pay their respects.

A police honour guard lined the centre aisle of the Lethbridge Exhibition Pavilion as the caskets were brought in.

Twigg was remembered for being an all round athlete who excelled in rodeo. His wife, Kim, also held her own when it came to rodeo and made a name for herself as a barrel racer.

Their granddaughter Brielle was already showing signs of following in her grandparents' footsteps. Although she was only three-years-old, she competed in the Claresholm junior rodeo this past summer.

Lacey was also remembered for her athleticism and was just starting a career as a health care aid before her life was taken away.

Sheldon and Kim Twigg are survived by their two teenage sons Dylan and Riley.
