The jury for the Jeremy Steinke trial has been selected.

Steinke is charged with killing his girlfriend's parents and eight-year-old brother in their Medicine Hat home in April of 2006.

Steinke's girlfriend was also charged with the killing her family. Last year, she was found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder and is serving 10-years in a psychiatric facility.

Steinke's trial was moved to Calgary after it was deemed he could not get a fair trial in Medicine Hat.

On Friday, Steinke was in court while the jury was selected. It took just under three hours to select six men and six women, plus two women alternates, for the jury.

The judge told the jury they cannot do any research on Steinke, the trial or his girlfriend.

Opening arguments begin on Monday and the trial is expected to take three weeks.
