Lethbridge man caught in possession of illegal drugs twice in 2 days: police
Lethbridge police say a 58-year-old man has been charged with drug trafficking offences twice within a 48-hour period.
The accused, who is known to police, was first arrested on Saturday evening on outstanding warrants.
While searching the man, police found he had seven grams of fentanyl on him – roughly 70 doses – some of which was pre-portioned.
Following a bail hearing, the man was released on Sunday with several conditions, one of which was to not be in possession of drugs.
Lethbridge police say that same man was taken into custody about six hours later during the search of a home in the 200 block of 13 Street North.
He allegedly had 1.5 grams of methamphetamine (15 doses) on him and 10.5 grams of fentanyl (105 doses).
The 58-year-old now faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, among other charges.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23.
