Calgary Police have arrested a man after a standoff that lasted several hours in the northeast community of Pineridge.

At around 4 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a domestic call at the home but soon called for the support of a tactical team and a K-9 unit after they were told the man was reportedly armed.

Several hours later, the man came out of the home but refused to comply with their instructions.

Officers took the man into custody with a “less lethal” rubber round.

He was transported to the Peter Lougheed Hospital for treatment and is listed in serious, but stable, condtion.

No one was injured in the initial domestic call.

The investigation continues.
