Police have confirmed to CTV that a man who barricaded himself inside a Erin Woods home for nearly six hours has turned himself in and come out peacefully.

Police were called to the scene early in the morning on Thursday after reports of an agitated man, who told them he was armed, barricading himself inside a home.

They immediately began to secure the area, telling residents to either stay in their homes or leave immediately.

At around 7:30 a.m., the man turned himself in, coming out of the home peacefully.

Police have not confirmed whether or not he was armed.

Charges are pending.
