Calgary police officers are investigating a mysterious assault.
Early Sunday morning a man was found lying on the sidewalk on 17 Avenue SW between 11 and 14 Street; he had been beaten.
It’s not clear if he was assaulted at that location or if he had been beaten elsewhere and then dumped.
EMS rushed him to the Foothills, he was in serious and potentially life-threatening condition.
Police are waiting to talk to the victim.
Police blocked off the area for several hours while they investigated.
