Calgary police have charged a 19-year-old Grande Prairie man in connection with robbing a bank with a replica handgun.

At about 12 noon on April 30, a man entered the Scotiabank in the 200 block of 61 Avenue S.W.

He approached one of the tellers, produced an imitation handgun, and demanded the teller to put money inside a duffle bag.

He secured an undisclosed amount of money and fled.

HAWCS, along with CPS ground units, were able to track down the suspect and arrest him.

Matthew Thomas Zylla, 19, has been charged with one count of robbery and one count of using a replica firearm during the commission of an indictable offence.
