Calgary police have laid a second-degree murder charge against a 29-year-old man after another man was found stabbed to death inside a Thorncliffe apartment.

They were called to a home in the 6400 block of Travois Place N.W. at around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning after receiving a 911 call.

When they arrived, they found the body of a man on the second floor of the apartment building.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS and an autopsy has determined that he died as result of a stabbing.

A short time later, police arrested a man, who surrendered peacefully, and took him in for questioning.

Haden Gidel Didier, 29, is charged with one count of second-degree murder.

Police have identified the victim as 25-year-old Kurlan Rick Joseph.

Police say that the two men were in a relationship and neither one of them have any history with them.

"These two individuals are involved in a domestic relationship," said Grant Miller, S/Sgt CPS Homicide Unit. "This happened in a very brief period of time and I think our investigation really focused on the incident, in the amount of time that we've had. We will get more into the background in the coming days and just because we've laid a charge, our investigation continues and it's certainly not over."

Miller says that police have recovered the weapon and  that Didier was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning.

Joseph is Calgary’s seventh murder victim of 2013.
