Calgary police have arrested a 38-year-old man in connection to the 2009 death of Laura Furlan.

Christopher Dunlop of Calgary  was taken into police custody on Friday.  On Saturday morning, Dunlop was charged with manslaughter and committing an indignity to a human body.

According to police, Dunlop and Furlan met on Monday, August 24, 2009, hours before Furlan disappeared.  It is alleged that Furlan was killed that evening.

On September 7, 2009, Furlan’s body was found in Fish Creek Park by a man walking his dog.

Police believe Furlan was involved in high risk lifestyle choices which may have prompted the encounter with Dunlop.
