Police are investigating after a man stumbled into a southwest Calgary health centre suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The man, in his 20s,  entered the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

He was then transported to Foothills Hospital for treatment.

Police say the man told them he was attacked in the Central Memorial Park across the street from the Sheldon Chumir.

They located the scene and took several pieces of evidence from the scene including a backpack.

Police are reluctant on releasing more details, but there is drug paraphenalia scattered throughout the area where they say the man was stabbed.

Foot patrols of the park have increased this past year and the area is closed to the public daily at 11 p.m.

The victim isn't cooperating with police.

There are no suspects so far.

They add that they believe this attack was targetted and there is no threat to the public.
