Calgary police say a 25-year-old man who was last seen leaving a southwest home in February was likely murdered.

Suryan Giama was reported missing by his family and was last seen at a home in Woodbine on February 17, 2014.

Police believe he met with foul play and his disappearance is now being investigated by the Homicide Unit.

Investigators recovered Giama’s dark grey, 2007 four-door Toyota Camry in southwest Calgary on Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

Several searches were conducted in and around the city and after an extensive investigation, detectives say they believe Giama was likely murdered.

“Preliminary forensic examinations that we’ve done at some of the scenes we’ve looked at have resulted in the determination that this likely involves foul play and is likely a homicide,” said CPS Sgt. John Hebert of the Major Crimes Section.

They are now trying to trace Giama’s movements before his disappearance.

Giama is described as:

  • Somalian descent
  • About 183 cm or 6’ tall
  • 68 kg or 150 lbs.
  • Slim build and a goatee
