Hundreds of people participated in Friday's community bake sale in a southeast neighbourhood that raised funds for the parents of a three-year-old boy who died last weekend during a family vacation to Florida

The bake sale, organized by members of the Auburn Bay Angels group, was designed to provide financial support for the family of Noah Catto. The preschooler was pulled from a private pool on Saturday and succumbed to his injuries in an Orlando-area hospital a short time later.

“It’s amazing that this community can come together for a family in need and in such a terrible situation,” said Kristen Page who wanted to contribute to the cause despite the fact she does not know the family. “I have a four-year-old so this hits close to home for me.”

“I’m proud to be a neighbour in this community.”

The bake sale took place in the driveways of homes along Auburn Sound Manor S.E. and was scheduled to end at 7:00 p.m.

Noah’s parents elected to donate the three-year-old’s organs in the hope that lives of other children could be saved.
