A 62-year-old man who formerly worked with the Calgary Homeless Foundation has been re-arrested for breaching the bail conditions in connection with charges of sexual assault.

Robin Adair Wortman, is charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation, trafficking and possession of child pornography in connection with a series of incidents involving homeless boys.

Officials say that the breaches stem from incidents where Wortman attended a private meeting where there was a reasonable expectation that minors would be present.

He is also accused of using electronic devices capable of accessing the Internet.

Wortman was originally arrested and charged in March 2017 when he allegedly chased a 19-year-old man down the hallway of an apartment complex with a knife.

Police say the young man claimed he’d been drugged, confined and sexually assaulted in the apartment by Wortman.

As they continued their investigation, another victim, a 17-year-old boy, came forward with a similar report of assault at the hands of Wortman that took place in May 2016.

That incident went to trial last year, but Wortman was found not guilty. The judge in that case determined that while the victim was a credible witness, he could not remember a lot of the details that took place.

He remains in custody and could face more charges.

Wortman will appear in court on the latest charges on Monday and his sexual assault trial is scheduled to begin in about a year.
