Hometown: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Been with CTV Calgary since: 1981 (though I disappeared for a couple of years from 1985 to 1987)
Career Highlights: I have been very honoured and grateful to have won the Calgary Herald Reader's Choice award for several years in a row. It means a lot to me, as it is a vote by the people of Calgary.
Volunteer Connections in Calgary: I'm very enthusiastic and involved in our own Weather in the Classroom program, which enables me to visit dozens of schools and talk to thousands of school children every year.
Education: Meteorology program, Mississippi State University
Favourite Place in Calgary: Bragg Creek (not really IN Calgary, but close)
Interests/Activities: Take me outside! I love the outdoors in the summer and spend most weekends at the many terrific campgrounds in southern Alberta
Favourite Music: 80s Hair bands. Remember Poison? How about Cinderella? Appetite for Destruction by Guns 'n Roses has to be one of the best albums in the history of recorded music. Stop laughing.
Favourite TV Shows:
Why I am a broadcaster: It gives a terrific opportunity to help an enormous number of people with daily decisions in their daily lives.
About Me: I have an amazing family. My wife Susan and I have been married for almost 19 years and we have three terrific children, Curtis, Emily and Gregory. We all share a love of the outdoors, camping, and travel, especially to the west coast, from BC down to San Diego. We wish we could go there more often.
As journalists we often come across a story, person, place or situation that leaves a lasting impression and we wish we could share more with our viewers than the 90 seconds television allows.
Postscript gives us a place to present those little extras and dig a little deeper into those stories that most interest Albertans.
We are pleased to share the more memorable moments from some of our most experienced reporters and anchors with our viewers...
