A 30-year-old woman has been apprehended and charged in connection with an incident in the morning hours of Saturday, February 24 on a rural property that left another trespassing suspect suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to RCMP officials, 30-year-old Stephanie Ann Martens of Okotoks was arrested on Tuesday, March 13 and charged with trespass at night, theft under $5,000 and mischief.

Martens has been released from police custody and is scheduled to make her next court appearance on Friday, April 20.

The Okotoks woman is the third person to be charged in connection with the events near the rural residence.

Edouard Maurice, the 33-year-old owner of the home, was charged with aggravated assault, pointing a firearm and careless use of a firearm after he allegedly confronted two trespassers on his property rummaging through his vehicles. Maurice made his first court appearance on March 9. The case has been adjourned to April 6.

After shots were fired on the Maurice property, the two suspects fled the area. A man suffering from a gunshot injury to his arm was later located and treated in hospital. The second trespassing suspect, 41-year-old Ryan Watson,was arrested on February 25 and faces charges of trespassing by night, mischief to property, theft under $5,000 from motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine and two counts of failure to comply with probation.

Stephanie Ann Martens was previously charged in connection with a police pursuit spurred by erratic driving in Saskatchewan in 2014 that ended on the set of Corner Gas in Rouleau, SK and a 2009 police pursuit in a stolen vehicle from the South Trail Wal-Mart in Calgary to a location near Langdon.
