Multi-vehicle highway collision in southern Alberta leaves 4 dead, 1 injured

Four people are dead following a multi-vehicle crash in southern Alberta on Monday evening.

It happened just before 6 p.m. on Highway 3 between Range Roads 143 and 144, west of Grassy Lake.

According to Taber RCMP, a Dodge Ram and trailer, a GMC truck and a Ford Escape were involved.

A man and a woman in the Dodge, both in their 80s, died at the scene.

A man in the GMC, 38, also died at the scene, while another man in the GMC, 20, died later in hospital.

And a man in the Ford was injured.

Mounties said what exactly happened remains under investigation.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the RCMP offered condolences to friends and family of all involved.
