Seven Calgarians are facing a slew of charges in connection to an ongoing ALERT investigation into street-level drug sales.

Police executed three search warrants on August 24 and 30 and seized drugs, cash and vehicles including:

  • 72 grams of cocaine
  • 84 grams of methamphetamine
  • 44 vials of suspected GHB
  • Various rounds of ammunition
  • $10,000 cash proceeds of crime
  • 3 vehicles

Seven people are facing a total of 56 charges and police believe they are part of a larger criminal organization.

“Arrests like this send a message of ALERT’s commitment to tackling all levels of organized crime and making the Calgary community safer. We are going to continue work with our partners to pursue the larger elements of this suspected criminal network,” said Insp. Cal Wiltshire.

The following people have been charged with drug trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and breach prohibition:
 

  1. Spencer Allan-Elliott, 26
  2. Antonio Chavez, 23
  3. Larissa Cowan, 25 (Update: November 29, 2018 – Charge was stayed then dropped)
  4. Corey DeBakker, 19
  5. Jason Hamilton, 40
  6. Jerrod Kennedy, 32
  7. Andrew McGuire, 41
