Hundreds of Muslim Calgarians got a little help from the community Sunday.

They took part in the second annual food and clothing distribution event at the Falconridge Community Centre.

It was organized by the Muslim Families Network Society who has been collecting clothing and food donations and distributed them Sunday afternoon.

Last year the organization provided support for 605 people at the event and expects to assist hundreds more this year.

One unique aspect of the event is the food bank is the only Hallal food bank in Calgary meaning all of the food meets the dietary specifications of the Muslim faith.
