Northbound Deerfoot Trail reopens following late morning crash

A late morning collision involving a van and a semi on Deerfoot Trail between the 32 Ave. and McKnight Trail overpasses has sent one person to hospital.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. when, according to witnesses, a spinning van was struck by an oncoming semi.
A witness to the crash assisted the driver of the van from the wreckage.
According to EMS officials, the occupant of the van was transported to hospital by ambulance in stable condition. The man's age has not been confirmed. It is not known if the driver of the semi was injured in the crash.
The northbound lanes of Deerfoot Trail were closed for nearly two hours following the collision. Traffic resumed shortly before 1:30 p.m.
