Almost 400 Calgarians took part in the Running Room's annual Santa Shuffle despite cold temperatures and icy conditions.
The Santa Shuffle Fun Run and Elf Walk raises money for charity and participants can choose to run either the 1km or the 5km route.
The runners started off from Eau Claire Market on Saturday morning and were among 10,000 runners from across the country who took part in the event.
All the money raised goes to supporting year-round programming at the Salvation Army.
The cold didn't stop people from lacing up and everyone who trudged through the snow along the Bow River seemed to have a good time.
"We may be missing a few people but those that are here are in good spirits and happy to be out and supporting," said Pam Goodyear of the Salvation Army.
Goodyear says that over a thousand people registered for the event and they are hoping to raise $500,000 across Canada and about $50,000 in Calgary.
The Santa Shuffle began as a fundraiser in Alberta and is held in cities and communities across North America.
