Health officials battling a measles outbreak in Lethbridge now say that the number of confirmed cases of the disease has reached 18.

They are not sure how many of those cases involve people who have been vaccinated.

Alberta Health Services are urging people that if you are sick, you should stay at home and call Health Link for advice.

Measles is highly contagious and has serious, potentially life-threatening reactions in victims.

Officials say that over 600 people have taken advantage of the mass immunization clinics that have opened since the outbreak was discovered.
