Members of the Calgary Police Service, including the TAC and K-9 units, surrounded a home in the northwest community of Panorama Hills following a Saturday morning incident which left two people injured.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., a motorist driving in the 700 block of Panatella Blvd. N.W. noticed two injured people at the side of the road. The driver stopped to help a man suffering from a broken arm and a woman with a broken nose.

EMS and CPS members responded to the scene. Officers were directed to a home where a man, a roommate of the victims, had allegedly struck the pair with a baseball bat.

CPS members attempted to contact the suspect but the man refused to open the door. Further investigation revealed weapons, including firearms, and multiple people were inside the home.

Police closed several roads in the neighbourhood.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m., one person exited the home and surrendered to police.
