Police are questioning the driver of a mini-van after another man was run over in the parking lot of a strip club in the northeast.

A 32-year-old man was walking in the parking lot outside the Big Easy gentlemen's club in the 3200 block of 32 St. N.E., around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night, when he was struck by a mini-van.

Witnesses say the Kia Sedona mini-van rammed into the victim with such force that he was thrown almost 5 meters.

The victim's brother was at the scene at the time and with the help of other witnesses called EMS and police.

The van fled the scene and was tracked down by police who scoured the surrounding area and followed a debris trail to the community of Palliser.

"Based on the debris left at the scene and information from witnesses, they started a trail of follow up that led them to a number of addresses," said Kevin Brookwell of the Calgary Police Service, "at one they were fortunate to find a vehicle that did match the description and they were able to confirm debris they had and damage on vehicle was consistent to what they had at the scene of collision

A 24-year-old man was arrested about 3:30 a.m. and police are interviewing two other men in connection with the incident.

The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in serious, life-threatening condition.
