An investigation into Sunday’s suspected child abduction in the city’s northeast has determined the event did not occur.
On Sunday evening, police responded to a home in the 5700 block of 18 Ave. N.E. following reports of a man attempting to grab the arm of a 10-year-old girl outside of the house.
Police concluded the abduction did not happen following interviews with the child and Pineridge residents.
The girl’s family and police are working together to ensure the child is aware of the dangers connected to, and the resources required to investigate, false claims.
