Police have charged a woman with second degree murder in the death of a Strathmore man.

RCMP were called to a house in Strathmore around 6:00 A.M. Saturday after they were told about a death at the residence.

When police arrived they discovered the body of 46-year-old Kevan Dunseath in the bedroom.

38-year-old Lela Mae Lafrance was arrested about 2 hours after the body was found and Monday police charged her with second degree murder.

Lefrance also lived at the home and was in a common-law relationship with Dunsheath.

Police were at the house about a month before to check out a domestic disturbance and ended up laying charges against Dunsheath for firearms possession.

The Calgary Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on the body and will only say that the victim died as a result of injuries received from the use of a firearm.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence and police seized several firearms.

Calgary and Lethbridge RCMP Major Crimes Unit and the Forensic Identification Section are continuing to investigate.
