Eleven people are facing charges as Calgary police wrap up several investigations.

In one case, two men were charged in relation to the trafficking of marijuana and other drugs.

The two were arrested in Airdrie with some marijuana. Police then executed a search warrant in New Brighton, where they found a marijuana grow-op with 260 plants valued at approximately $325,000.

They also found codeine pills, clonidine pills, prescription pills believed to be Oxycontin and vials of cannabis resin, with a total value of $3,600.

A search warrant was also conducted in the 0-100 block of Luxstone Crescent, Airdrie. Inside that home, police discovered pills believed to be Oxycodone, cocaine, marijuana and Psilocybin, all valued at approximately $5,000.

Brian Edmond BLEILE, 54, was charged with 14 offences, nine of which were drug-related charges, including trafficking and possession. He was also charged with three counts of failing to comply, and one count each of possession of property obtained by crime and theft of electricity.

Robert Dwayne PENNY, 36, of Strathmore, faces one count of possession of marijuana.

Joshua Robert THIESEN, 26, and Christopher BARTLETT, 31, were each charged with three counts of possession of marijuana.

Another six-week investigation led police to a car with 2.6 kilograms of marijuana, valued at $26,680, as well as $3,800 in cash.

A search warrant was later executed in the 5600 block of Henwood Street S.W., where police seized 3 kilograms of marijuana, valued at $30,000, a number of syringes containing hash oil and $22,000 cash.

Brandon Eric MAILER, 25, and Brendan Arthur GREENSLADE, 24, both of Calgary, were charged with one count each of trafficking a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime.

Another case began with a robbery and assault at a local hotel, leading to five people being charged with a number of offences, including assault, robbery, weapons and drug charges.

On Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, a man was assaulted in northeast Calgary hotel.

It is alleged the victim was attacked in the hotel hallway and kicked and punched until he was unconscious. When the victim regained consciousness, he left the hotel, but was approached by the suspects again, who tried to force him into a car. While attempting to escape, he was stabbed, resulting in minor injuries.

As the investigation progressed, police arrested four men.

One of the suspects was arrested with another man, who was not a suspect in the assault, but was found in possession of a handgun. A quantity of Methamphetamine and a knife were also seized.

Jesse Craig FORSTER, 29, Michael Stephen PAUL, 31, Seth Micah WESTERGARD, 29 and Justin ROSSBACH, 27, all of Calgary, have all been charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm.

John BENTLEY, 26, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts each of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon, as well as one count each of possession of methamphetamine, hazardous storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, tampering with a serial number, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order and possession of a weapon for the purpose of trafficking.

The investigation continues and more charges may be pending.

Investigators believe there were five suspects involved in the assault, and continue to look for one unidentified male.
