A property in the city’s southeast that was identified by law enforcement as a magnet for drug activity has been boarded up for the next three months.

The Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit closed down the house, located at 5106 Erin Pl. S.E., after obtaining a court order.

Members of the community filed a number of complaints about the property with police in April 2017 and officers were able to obtain evidence to confirm drug activity at the home.

At the end of March, SCAN secured a Community Safe Order and after talking with the owner, the home was closed down for 90 days.

Authorities changed the locks on the residence and have put up a fence around the property.

The owner and any occupants will not be able to return until the order expires on July 12, 2018.
