Members of the Morley RCMP detachment have cordoned off a home on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation following the death of a 28-year-old man.

On Friday morning, shortly before 5:30 a.m., RCMP and EMS responded to the home following reports a man was in medical distress. The man was located and pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP have identified the deceased as 28-year-old Wilfred Junior Amos of Morley. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted at the Calgary Medical Examiner’s office on Monday, January 25.

RCMP members arrested a man at the home on charges unrelated to Amos’ death. The unidentified man has been released from RCMP custody.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation into the death.
