Canmore RCMP is asking the public for help to find a suspect in connection to a home invasion and armed robbery in the Exshaw area on Thursday morning.

Police say a man knocked on the door of a home at about 10:45 a.m. and then forced his way in after the homeowner opened the door.

Investigators say the suspect produced an edged weapon and robbed the victim of personal property.

The man fled in a dark grey, Toyota Rav4, which was taken from the residence. The vehicle was later located in a rural area north of Morley.

The suspect is described as:

  • Aboriginal
  • 175cms or 5’9” to 178cms or 5’10” tall
  • Average build
  • Short, dark black hair
  • Brown eyes
  • Clean shaven
  • Wearing a black oversized hoodie with white markings
  • Baggy blue jeans
  • Black running shoes

No one was injured in the incident.
