Members of the Medicine Hat Police Service and RCMP have arrested seven suspected drug dealers in connection with a three month investigation into drug activity in southern Alberta.

According to police, search warrants were executed at two Medicine Hat homes on Saturday, one on Ranchland Boulevard Northeast and another on Somerset Lane Southeast, resulting in the seizure of:

  • Cocaine (375 grams)
  • Heroin (4 grams)
  • Hydromorphine (40 pills)
  • A single fentanyl pill
  • Cannabis resin (20 grams)
  • Psilocybin (2 grams)
  • A cocaine press and packaging material
  • SKS carbine rifles (two)
  • Thousands of rounds of ammunition
  • A loaded 25 round magazine

The estimated street value of the drugs is $40,000.

Police say the rifles were illegally acquired and the serial number had been defaced on one of the weapons.

As a result of the searches, police arrested the following individuals:

  • Dorian Bernhart. 21 years old
  • Steven O’Nabigon, 21 years old
  • Cole Lee, 24 years old
  • Devin Petke, 25 years old
  • Jamie Vorra, 25 years old
  • Justin Tye, 26 years old
  • Nathan Cooper, 34 years old

At this time, the accused face a total of 41 charges. Police continue to investigate drug trafficking in Medicine Hat and additional charges are anticipated.
