A sex offender who was also deemed a high risk offender by city police was in court on Thursday for sentencing.

Keegan Spearchief pleaded guilty to assault and voyeurism and was sentenced to three and a half years.

The assault happened in August 2010 in the 3100 block of Doverville Cres. S.E.

When police arrived they were confronted by a man armed with a knife who challenged officers to shoot him.

He fled on foot, but was caught and arrested.

Spearchief was out on bail and wearing a GPS monitoring bracelet at the time of the attacks.

Spearchief has been in custody since last fall, so he will only spend another two years and 11 months behind bars. He is also facing a dangerous offender hearing which could see him locked up indefinitely.
