RCMP have charged the 31-year-old son of a man found dead earlier this week on a rural property near Innisfail.

The body of Tim Guilbault was found by his daughter at his residence in Red Lodge Estates at about noon on Monday.

Guilbault's daughter was coming to tell her dad about the failing health of his elderly mother who died later that same day.

An autopsy was conducted on Guilbault on Tuesday and his death was deemed a homicide.

Aaron Guilbault is charged with second degree murder in the death of his 58-year-old father.

He was in his father's vehicle when police caught up with him near Stettler.

"We had information that he was travelling out that way and that's how we located him," said RCMP Corporal A.J. Mand.

Mand says that they can't comment on a motive at this time and are not releasing the cause of death.

Tim Guilbault was the Director of Human Resources at Brookfield Residential in Calgary and police say he was a well respected member of the business community.

Guilbault was a former Red Deer Councillor and was getting ready to walk his daughter down the aisle this weekend at her wedding.

Aaron Guilbault appeared in court in Red Deer on Wednesday morning to answer to the charges and remains in custody.

He will be back in court on November 21, 2012.
