Police in Lethbridge have arrested a suspect in connection to the violent assault on a Lethbridge woman in a southside alley at the end of September.

Emergency crews were called to the 2000 block of 6 Avenue South on September 30 after a passerby found an injured woman.

The 25-year-old woman was on her way to work at the Firestone pub between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. when she was attacked.

She was taken to hospital in Calgary with life threatening injuries where she remains.

On Wednesday, police arrested a suspect in the case and officials say they are in custody.

There is no word yet on the suspect's name.
