RCMP arrested two individuals and seized a significant quantity of drugs after a traffic stop on Highway 1 in Cypress County last week.

Members of the Redcliff Integrated Traffic Unit, while patrolling Highway 1 near Range Road 101, discovered a motor vehicle parked off the highway with two people inside.

Because of a recent increase in rural property crimes, the officers ran the Saskatchewan licence plate and discovered that it was connected to a recent robbery in Swift Current.

They were then able to match up all the details from the investigation into the theft with the vehicle and proceeded to detain the occupants.

Once the pair was arrested, a search of the vehicle discovered a large amount of cash associated with the theft, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine and a number of other items associated with the theft.
