Calgary police are investigating following two separate stabbings that took place on Wednesday night in the Beltline.

At just after 11:30 p.m., a 20-year-old woman was attacked in a park behind a Mac’s convenience store near the intersection of 17 Avenue and 11 Street S.W.

She suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the stabbing and is being treated at Foothills Hospital.

About an hour later, a man called police, saying that he too had been stabbed.

The 27-year-old  said he’d been attacked by a group of four to five males. He suffered more extensive injuries, but he is also recovering at Foothills.

Investigators are still working out where the second incident took place, but say it was likely somewhere along 11 Street S.W.

Police are continuing to investigate, but are not sure whether or not the two incidents are related or if they are targeted attacks.
