Calgary police are looking for a 21-year-old man who was charged with first degree murder in the death of Lukas Strasser-Hird back in 2013.

Strasser-Hird was found badly beaten in an alley behind the 200 block of 10 Avenue S.W. on November 23, 2013 and later died from his injuries in hospital.

An autopsy determined that his death was the result of a stabbing and it is believed that he was involved in two separate altercations before his death.

Nathan Paul Gervais was charged with first-degree murder and Franz Emir Cabrera, Joch Pouk, Assmar Ryiad Shlah and Jordan Lee Liao were all charged with second-degree murder in the case.

Gervais was placed under 24-hour house arrest while he waited for his trial and when police went to check on him last Saturday, they were unable to locate him.

He is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 173 cm or 5’8” tall
  • Medium build
  • Brown hair and brown eyes

Anyone with information on Gervais’ whereabouts is asked to call the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234, or the Homicide Unit Tip Line at 403-428-8877. Tips can also be left anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers using any of the following methods:
