WestJet officials aren’t releasing many details, but for the second time in three days, the Calgary-based carrier needed to divert one of its flights due to an alleged threat.

A flight from Edmonton to Toronto needed to land in Winnipeg on Monday night.

54 passengers plus five crew members were on board the plane.

Emergency evacuation slides were deployed to get the passengers off the plane as quickly as possible.

Six passengers were injured in the hurried activity, but they are recovering in hospital from non-life-threatening injuries.

This is the second time that a WestJet plane has been threatened. Two days ago, an Edmonton-bound flight had to land in Saskatoon following a reported bomb threat.

A call came in that a bomb was on the aircraft, but a search of the aircraft turned up nothing.

There are no details confirmed about Monday night’s supposed threat, but passengers are still unnerved by the situation.

“All of a sudden, all we heard was ‘evacuate and go’ and then everybody started flying off the slide that they put out and stuff,” said one passenger.

The passengers from Monday night’s flight spent the night in Winnipeg and will continue on to their destination on Tuesday.
